Bayt Al-Bayah

In the heart of the city of Hofuf in Al-Ahsa Province, specifically in Al-Koot neighborhood, stands Bayt Al-Bayah (Bayt Al-Mulla), an important monument that was the scene of vital events in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On Sunday night, May 28, 1331 AH, this house welcomed the Founding Father, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, upon his arrival in Al-Ahsa. The people of Al-Ahsa pledged allegiance to him in this house. Dating back to 1203 AH, Bayt Al-Bayah was built by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Omar Al-Mulla, who served as judge of Al-Ahsa during that period. This house extends over an area of 705 m² and consists of numerous rooms. It houses archaeological artifacts and ancient manuscripts, and acts as a testament to the historical era of its construction. Through Heritage Commission efforts, the House of Allegiance has been restored and transformed into a historical site. Today, it is a prominent archaeological and tourist landmark in Al-Ahsa, attracting visitors interested in learning about this period of the history of the province.
