House of Artisans

In the Artisans Market in Buraidah, the House of Artisans thrives with creativity and heritage. In this market, the past and present blend in a unique scene embodying an authentic Saudi identity. The handicrafts are not merely a legacy of the past, but are transformed into a sustainable project that reshapes them in a modern style, preserves their originality and endows them with new dimensions of beauty and innovation. The House of Artisans is a center of traditional crafts, supporting and empowering 120 artisans and hobbyists. It trains and helps those artisans produce high-quality artifacts inspired by Saudi heritage. These products have developed into a thriving commodity, opening up broad horizons for a brighter future for the relevant arts. In its first phase, the House of Artisans adopted an integrated program consisting of three main crafts: woodwork, which emulates traditional carpentry and engraving techniques; manufacturing olive-stone rosary beads that combine simplicity and elegance; and embroidery, an art that tells a story through colors and threads passed down the generations. As a result of the series of success stories, the project was broadened to cover new crafts in the second phase, which also offers a new training program that includes Najdi door and window engravings that reflect wood decoration aesthetics in Najdi art; wickerwork interlacing palm fronds; and traditional embroidery, which revives applying traditional Saudi patterns on various types of fabrics. The production process at the House of Artisans proceeds through carefully considered stages: brainstorming and determining product type, planning initial designs, digital coloring and implementation of the product under the supervision of specialist trainers. The finest raw materials are used to create original and quality products of high material and moral value. The House of Artisans offers a diverse range of products, mostly wickerwork: bookmarks, wallets and bags of various sizes, pen organizers and stationery. Najdi door and window engraving works include incense burners inspired by Bab Diriyah, oud boxes, traditional trays, key chains and artistic paintings that reflect local heritage. Traditional embroidery artifacts include card holders, tablet cases and shoulder bags of various sizes. This market is famous for its exquisite products and architectural designs inspired by the authentic Arabian style, blending traditional details with modern features. The place provides a fascinating visual and cultural experience for all visitors. The role of the House of Artisans is not restricted to production. It also promotes the concept of handicrafts as a sustainable source of income through workshops and marketing outlets. It is a project that aims to revive traditional crafts and re-introduce them with a new spirit, reflecting the originality of the past and keeping pace with the aspirations of the present.
